Hydro Massage Tables

Overview

HydroMassage tables offer a massage therapy through pressurized water jets. HydroMassage offers seven different types of water massage beds that all come with at least a three-year warranty for the tub and frame, a one-year warranty on parts and 90 days of labor services. The massage beds have all been tested and approved by Electrical Testing Laboratories, or ETL.

Therapeutic Benefits

HydroMassage beds perform a type of massage therapy using pressurized water jets that can target practically every body part. The bed's surface on which the patient lies is engaged from underneath. Water jets inside the encased bed frame offer more than 17,000 massage options. HydroMassage's "Water-thru-Air" technology can be customized to provide a range of pressure and temperatures. HydroMassage.com claims that therapeutic benefits include relieved muscle tension, reduced stress and anxiety, and overall relaxation.

100 Series

The HydroMassage 100 Series is the most basic of the massage beds in the HydroMassage product line. The massage bed can run for one to two hours at a time on a 110V outlet to power its pulsating jets. The massage bed is available with white panels and a blue top only. Its temperature control ranges from 92 to 105 degrees.

320 Series

The massage bed is designed to be used all day without any risk of overheating. The 320 Series performs deep-tissue massages, which have been measured to be 67 percent stronger than 100 Series massages, according to the HydroMassage website. A hand-held controller and external cooling system are included. Color choices include black panels with green top, white panels with blue top and black panels with black top. The massage bed requires a 200V outlet with a 30-amp dedicated breaker and 10-gauge wire.

350 Series

The 350 Series is HydroMassage's most popular model, according to the website. The massage bed offers deep-tissue massages, a smooth wave massage system and comes with an external cooling system. The 350 Series includes touchscreen controls, multimedia entertainment options, promotional videos and remote controls. The massage bed's system is controlled by a member management software. The massage bed's temperature control ranges from 92 to 105 degrees F and requires a 220V outlet with a 30-amp dedicated breaker and 10-gauge wire. Color choices include black panels with green top, white panels with blue top and black panels with black top.

700 Series

HydroMassage's top-of-the-line massage bed is the 700 Series. The massage bed was designed to meet medical equipment standards and carries the hospital grade certification of UL Medical 60101-1, according to HydroMassage.com. The 700 Series comes with all of the features of the 350 Series, plus sanitary table covers and maintenance training. Temperature controls range from 92 to 105 degrees F, and a 220V outlet with a 30-amp dedicated breaker and 10-gauge wire is required to run the system.

Off-The-Beaten-Path Massages

Here are a couple of treatments you might not have ever heard of, but might be curious to ask about some day soon.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM) is a gentle rhythmic style of massage that mimics the action of the lymphatic system, using precise rhythm and pressure to open the initial lymphatics and stimulate lymph vessels to contract to move fluids out of the body tissues. A full body massage takes two hours, but treatments can be tailored to the individual’s needs if only certain areas require attention.

LDM helps to improve acne, allergies, catarrh, cellulite, eczema, fatigue, headaches, inflammation, oedema (non-medical), PMT, post injury swelling, sluggish tissue regeneration, strains, stress as well as being a general means of detoxification.

It generally energizes post treatment but during the treatment is meditative.

60 to 120 minutes of intense but pleasurable de-toxification!

HOPI EAR CANDLES THERMO-AURICULAR THERAPY

Hopi Ear Candling originated from the Native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona. Hopi means peaceful people, people of peace. A 22 cm ear candle, made with flax, beeswax, honey, Camomile, Sage and Hypericum is lit at one end and gently placed in the ear. This creates a slight under pressure (the chimney effect) inside the ear candle and a vibration of the rising air column through the natural movement of the flame which serves to gently massage the eardrum. Whilst the candle is burning the pleasant heat sensation is intensified which stimulates the peripheral blood circulation and strengthens the cleansing circulation of the lymph glands. It also stimulates energy points and reflex zones.

This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses. It is soothing and helpful for earache, removal of ear-wax, headaches, migraine, sinusitis, rhinitis, noises and ringing in the ears and is relaxing and calming for stress symptoms. It is also safe and beneficial for children.

30 to 45 minutes of soothing comfort!

How To Turn Your Body Into A Hairless Wonderland With Gadgets

I am a surprisingly hairy man. All that hair needs the right tools to tame, trim and shave. The three devices up to the task? The Mangroomer, the Philips Bodygroom, and the Flowbee have been around for a while and are great separately, but this is the first time that we've seen their full power unleashed together. Here's how they stood up.

Let's start from the head down. First, the Flowbee. Even if you haven't had the pleasure of having this used upon you—that is the correct description of being Flowbeed—you probably saw this on late-night TV ads. If you're not familiar, the Flowbee is a combination vacuum cleaner and (head) hair trimmer. Both plug into the wall (you can opt to use your own vacuum and save a few bucks on the order) and work together to simultaneously cut and clean up the mess.

It's pretty unwieldy if you're doing trimming yourself, so your best bet is to get someone to help. There are different sized spacer attachments so you can get a variation of lengths, but the shortest you can get is probably a #2 or a #3 (in regular trimmer terms). In the end, the only time you'd really use this is if your kid doesn't care about how he—or help me Jeebus, she—looks or if you're the last man on Earth and there are no barbers, stylists or women of any kind around. But you do save money over the long run.

Then there's the Mangroomer. It looks like a cross between a backscratcher, a nunchuck, and an electric shaver. It allows you to reach behind your back (either overhand or sideways) and shave off the hair. In theory, it's great. In practice, you need someone else to help.

The performance of the razor is great. It gets all your hair off in one or two strokes if you swipe cleanly and evenly, which means you'll actually need someone behind you to direct—or even take over. Doing it yourself is alright (and is the point of the gadget), but without straining yourself with two mirrors it's hard to make sure you've gotten your entire back.

As for comfort, well, the blade's not really protected, which meant I had redness and some irritation after I was done, but cleared up after a good night's sleep.

How good you look after it's done: 8

Last, and most importantly, the Bodygroom. Philips markets this shaver as a device that gets rid of all hair below the neck. This means your chest, your arms, your pits, your stomach, your legs, your crotch and even your ass crevasse can be hair free. We only tested this on four of those seven places—points if you guess which—and found it to be a great shave.

It's essentially a fancy beard trimmer with a fancy shave guard, which means you can stay far enough away from your goods to keep from injuring yourself and close enough to give you the freshness you're looking for. But like shavers, you'll have some itching afterwards. However, it's the most pain-free way to get hair out of your genital region and into wherever you keep excess hair.

The hair all grew back.
