Are you a mobile spa professional? Why not let your clients experience the luxury of paraffin treatment at home? With a few adjustments to your in-office paraffin routine, you can take your wax treatment on the road.
One of the first obstacles to mobile wax treatment is the time it takes to melt the wax. If you wait to melt the wax until you reach the client’s home, you could be there several hours before the paraffin is ready for use. The trick is to melt the wax in your office before your mobile appointment.
To melt the wax faster, use only as much wax as you need. After the wax is completely melted, unplug the paraffin heater and let the wax harden slightly to keep it from spilling as you carry the heater to the car. Place the heater in a plastic tub or insulated tote, and wrap towels around it to retain the heat. If possible, position the tub in the vehicle so that it will not be able to tip over.
As soon as you get to the client’s home, plug in the paraffin heater to re-melt the wax. If you are using the same wax for more than one client, pour or scoop a portion of the wax into a smaller bowl lined with a plastic bag. Then brush the paraffin wax onto the client’s hands and feet. By brushing instead of dipping, you can melt a smaller amount of wax. For clients who are sensitive to heat, brushing on the wax allows you to control the temperature.
As soon as you are done with the paraffin heater, unplug it and allow the wax to cool and harden slightly before packing it up to go home.
